1. Introductions

During their first days of internship, Tim den Besten and Nicolaas Veul become acquainted with the often mysterious clients in their department, but also with the do's and don'ts in the profession. Tim is told by his supervisors that he should ask less direct questions. Nicolaas is introduced to Benno, who hears the voices of three floating men.

While Nicolaas has more and more contact with the clients in his department, Tim is still dealing with the consequences of the breakfast conversation with Djina that went wrong. They gradually gain the trust of a number of clients. Nicolaas gets to know Vince, a former homeless person who has special talents. On Mother's Day, Tim visits Liesje, who is only allowed to see her daughter once a month.

3. An exploration

Tim and Nicolaas are learning more and more about the clinical picture of their clients. Nicolaas is taken into his confidence by Jan, a man who refuses his medication because he believes that terrible things will happen if he takes the medication.
